About

In my final collection, I draw inspiration from the eroded stones that I collect during my walks by the seashore in Iceland. In this place I found an incredible variety of eroded natural stones with crystal structures and repetitive patterns and textures. I am interested in the natural process of transformation of these rocks, reflecting on the idea of how time and other environmental factors, have weathered them for centuries.

My jewellery designs explore and aim at recreating the tactile properties of these found natural objects while reconstructing the effects of erosion. I explore these themes through the creation of repeated circles with curve outlines that would represent the softness of contours and the hard-corroded stones.

I believe that my jewellery pieces are completed once they are worn, adorning the wearer’s body. Therefore, I focus on how the negative space of knuckles and the concavity of the pieces can become one together. Moreover, I aim at sharing my personal physical experience of holding and handling these objects with the wearer while encouraging interaction and play.
